I have 5 years of working experience with the aims to apply my knowledge in geology and groundwater hydraulics to solve quality and quantity groundwater problems that aims at a better understanding of the anthropo-ecosystems and their changes over time. Having been a hydrogeologist in two different institutions, I have broadened my understanding of hydrogeological concepts and processes and honed my skills in groundwater assessment and monitoring. Over the last 5 years, I have been collaborating with research for development organizations and universities, supervising MSc and PhD
students. I contributed to three projects in North Africa:
- The AMETHYST project which aims to analyze the co‐evolutions of the water resources under the influence of global change (climate and anthropogenic changes) and of the water uses trajectories. Two case studies waere considered, the Merguellil catchment (near Kairouan, in central Tunisia) and the Tensift region (near Marrakech, Morocco)
- The SICMED international programme which is an initiative that aims at a better understanding of the Mediterranean anthropo-ecosystems and their changes. SICMED has developed a range of research activities and approaches to reach its objectives. Our activities are mainly defined through the establishment of major study sites, thematic networks and the launch and answer to call for proposals.
- The ARENA project which analyzes the vulnerability and adaptation capacities of irrigated agriculture from groundwater in North Africa where the intensive use of groundwater resources by the rapid deployment of private wells and boreholes has led to the development of a dynamic agricultural economy and many environmental consequences have appeared (drying up of groundwater, degradation of the quality of water and soil ...).
Today I’m working in the National Water Supply and Distribution Company. My activities aim to study and monitor the evolution of groundwater resources throughout all aquifer systems in Tunisia (hydrogeological, geophysical and geochemical studies) and the diagnostic and monitoring of drinking water supply wells.
