2005 - 2008- Envelop Leadership Team member to drive strategy implementation and business improvement. Act as the finance advisor for the business. This requires business mindset, strategy understanding, and interpersonal skills to support, challenge and influence business in an effective manner.
- Assurance and Governance: Played a leadership role in improving business control framework effectiveness and compliance through control reviews, self-assessments and closure of audit actions. Provided finance assurance and supported business assurance process. Led Manual of Authority dissemination and compliance.
- ERP: Led process design and system implementation of Africa ERP standardizing Project. Improvements learnt from pathfinder implementations were built into future implementation. Led Advanced Stock valuation project in Tunisia. The challenge was to make local finance, local LOBP, IT and Consultants staff to work together towards a common goal.
- Cost management and Controls: Provided financial support and challenge to cost management. Teamed with logistic manager to review and restructure logistic controls processes. This required process redesign and shift in staff mindset.
- Joined Venture management: Tracked 13 JVs and subsidiaries through regular performance and risk reviews. Member of Operation committee JV-LOBP in Tunisia. The achievement was to move the Operation committee from conflict to cooperation with JV partners.
- Provided finance support and challenge to Supply Chain capital investment decisions. Assessing investment implications in terms of opportunity/risk for the business. Project investment tracking. Oversight capital investment model.
- People management: Coached and developed Africa Lubricant Finance team. Cross functional teamwork and stakeholder management.
- Led Planning cycle for Africa Supply Chain and ensured alignment with Group standards and guidelines. This required interpersonal and communication skills. Business understanding is a key success factor to ensure consistency between targets and initiatives.
- Africa Lubricants Supply Chain strategy review team member to re-assess supply options and develop new strategy in line with the Group global strategy.- Actively contributed to Global Lubricants Finance initiatives.
